Stereotype is a phenomenon that extensively consists in our daily life and affects our attitudes and judgments in conscious or unconscious. It's also a remarkable research area in the filed of Sociology and Psychology. In the last 90s, Greenwald, Banaji and Yang Zhiliang proposed the concept of Implicit Social Cognition respectively. Since then, Implicit Stereotype, Implicit Self-esteem and Implicit Attitude had become a major research and cutting-edge content in psychology and sociology. It had been proved that stereotype can be divided into implicit level and explicit level which will appear the phenomenon like unity phenomenon or separation phenomenon.Regional Stereotype is a cognitive structure which concerns about the knowledge, attitude and anticipation toward people who have been living in a certain region, but it has not formed a complete system and has just done some works in sociology and demography. Besides, there are only a few of researches on the implicit regional stereotype.Since the nineties of last century, it had carried out the reform of higher education in China. After twenty years'development, the higher education has been made unprecedented progress everywhere, at the same time expansion's scale of higher education also achieves the new altitude. According to the related department's statistics, university graduate's population has grown sharply year by year and it has reached the number of 5.59 million until 2008. By 2009 university graduate's population has grown to 6.11 million, the number increase 0.52 million to 2008.These number illustrate that Jobs Summit of Chinese graduates has coming.Since the end of 2007, the United States has broken out large-scale subprime mortgage crisis and gradually evolved into global financial crisis. Especially since September 2008, the international economic situation deteriorated so sharply and rapidly that it has evolved into the most serious international financial crisis from the Great Depression in 1970s and the probability of global economic recession increases obviously. China who plays an important role in the world economy and finance has also been influenced gradually, for example, many domestic and foreign companies begin to reduce staff in order to reduce the expenditure. It makes more difficult to find a job for the college student than before. Under the situation of stern employment, the employment question becomes a major problem in front of the students, the schools and the society. It is an issue to be studied that if college student can become more rationality and reality when facing the preference of employment region. The paper analyzes the tendency of the college students'employment region preference, finds the employment region in which the college students expect to work, summarizes the rule of choosing the region and study the relationship between college students'regional stereotype and the tendency of college students'employment region. It provides the theoretical basis for college employment guidance and helping the college students to overcome regional stereotypes and establish suitable self-employment intentions..The paper discusses the relationship between regional stereotype based on the prevenient research and the tendency of employment's regional preference. The experiment's result is based on the data of 140 people. Using free association questionnaire and implicit association test, we can discuss the existence of implicit and explicit regional stereotypes and we also study the tendency of college student's regional preference in Changchun. We get the experimental data through two experiments and an investigation, then we analyze the data of experiment result by using description statistics, the independent sample T-test in, the pair sample T-test,χ2test and come to the following conclusions:Firstly, it is an objective reality that college students have explicit regional stereotype in Changchun. The students being tested prefer to use nice words to describe the developed region, while use bad words to describe the developing region. Secondly, the results show that IAT is an objective reality. The students being tested tend to evaluate the developed region in a positive appraisal, but evaluate the developing region in a negative appraisal in the test on implicit stereotype which is consistent with the explicit stereotype.Thirdly, there is no relationship between the stereotype and the student's specialty, but sex is an influencing factor.Fourthly, students being tested have significant differences when choosing the employment area because they tend to choose the developed regions.Fifth, most of students from Northeast tend to work in their hometown. Finally, there is a significance relationship between the regional stereotype and the preference of employment region for college students. These conclusions confirm the hypothesis of my research basically. Based on the above results, it could be concluded that regional stereotype and source place of students play an important role in the preference of employment region for college students. The students across the country may be influenced by the regional stereotype in college students'study and life, so it is a very meaningful topic that how to use psychology to overcome regional stereotype and provide an effective reference to establishing a set of employment intentions that fit oneself for the college students. It has cut a great figure for the research on stereotype. Because of the constraint on the research methods and research conditions, the research focus and theoretical views are different. With the deepening of research and continuous improvement and development of research methods, the research on regional stereotype will own a bright prospect.
