Because of traditional teaching methods, schools have failed to realize the elementary idea of teaching writings in classical Chinese advanced in The General Goal in Chinese Course. As a consequence, a successful exploration of teaching writings in classical Chinese includes the following significant factors: right reading idea, proper reading texts and efficient methods of learning. By the means of introducing a new educational idea in Chinese course devised by Pan Xinhe and using the teaching and reforming experience of Beijing Jingshan Middle School for reference, this dissertation seeks to find a way of teaching which can not only stimulate students' interest in reading writings in classical Chinese, but also can lead to the transfer of useful knowledge from wrtings in classical Chinese to sensible and visible spoken Chinese. From the author's point of view, when teaching students, teachers take the responsibility for helping them to absorb the cream of language and thoughts hidden in writings in classical Chinese, to combine learning writings in classical Chinese and spoken Chinese, encourage them to plunge into times and life and give free rein to their creativity. Only when students are affected by the charm of writings in classical Chinese and enjoy learning them, can they increase their Chinese accomplishments phonetically and culturally.
