The innovative teaching of the History and Society Course in middle schools aims at meeting the knowledge economy and the teaching demands of the new basic education reform in China. Employing the theory of education, psychology and cognitive science, the article expounds the connotation, the characteristics and the insight of the innovative teaching, and probes into the strategy and evaluation of the innovative teaching of the History and Society Course in middle schools, with the wish to make a slight contribution to the course teaching reform.
