| Education is an important factor to measure women's participation in the social activities. It is also a sign marking women's social and economic status. With the rapid economic development, higher education in our country has made great achievements and women postgraduates'education has also gained rapid progress. The number of women who have received postgraduate education has been in steady increase. Under this general environment, this thesis tries to study why women postgraduates are in the majority in the discipline of education by inquiring students in several universities in W city and analyzing the related data in question.This thesis firstly makes an introduction to the educational development of our country's women postgraduates. By using and quoting related data the author reveals the situation of postgraduates in the discipline of education and analyzes the phenomenon that women postgraduates are in the majority in that group.Secondly, this thesis makes a comprehensive analysis about the cause of the fact that women postgraduates are in the majority in the discipline of education. The author tries to reveal the cause from two viewpoints: the inner and the outer angles. The outer cause contains social, economic and educational factors. The postgraduate entrance examination also accounts for this fact. The inner cause mainly concerns the students themselves.By analyzing the record of the inquiry, this thesis gives a description about such women postgraduates'study and future development. The author also puts forward some further thought about this phenomenon: though this fact might have both positive and negative effects, we should take an objective attitude towards it. To minimize its negative effect, it takes the effort of women themselves, the support from society and the cooperation of the educational circles. |
