Research On The Problems And Strategies Of Gender Stratification Of Women In Engineering Education

Women and engineering are two terms that are not traditionally linked with one another. In today's information age, it is critical to harness the technical skills of women in engineering for the scientific & technological progress and innovations of a country. So, the thesis tries to discuss the problems and strategies of women in the engineering education from the perspective of gender stratification.The thesis summarizes studies at home and abroad on this topic, explains basic conceptions such as gender stratification, analyses the problem of gender stratification of women in engineering education, points out problems such as the gap of gender stratification of women in engineering education between urban and rural areas, the gender stratification problem is more obvious in engineering industry. This thesis presents initiatives at home and abroad taken to address gender stratification of women in engineering education, deliberates tactics of promotion of women in engineering education. Basing on these tactics, the thesis finally and necessarily provides strategies to the existence problems and China's national conditions, from three levels of aspects: macro thesis, medium thesis, and micro thesis to involve high education institutions, industry, and government in promoting women in engineering for China.
