| The game of go is the gem of Chinese culture and is adored by people all over the world. On account of the prevalence and development of go, researches on this game increased correspondingly, among which the go psychology drew researchers' attention. Although the large amount of research literature has shed much liglit on this field, there are still some issues that need further investigations including the impact of go on children's attention, volition and creativity, which play an active role in children's learning and the promotion of comprehensive constitution. 398 and 426 students from go school and no-go school were included in this research.. Students' attention, volition and creativity were assessed by Attention Test for Elementary and Middle School Students, Volition Test and Williams Creativity tendency Test separately. And the participants were divided into two groups. A few students were served as playing go group, and the others were called control group. The main findings of the study were as follows:1. The act of playing go plays an active role in children's attention, especially in terms of stability, centrality and continuity. But the impact on the span and convert of attention is insignificant. Further analysis on gender and grade indicate that the main effect of gender was insignificant, which illuminated that there is no gender difference in whether playing go or not. But the main effect of grade was significant, which demonstrated that the levels of attention of grade one, five and eight were in great difference.2. We can conclude that playing go can improve children's volition by comparing the sores of the group that played go and the control group, especially in terms of pertinacity, determination and self-confidence. However, the influence on children's diligency, clarity of goals and self-control is insignificant. Further analysis on gender and grade indicate that the main effect of gender was insignificant. Whereas the main effect of grade was significant on total scores, pertinacity and self-confidence of volition, which demonstrated that the above dimensionalities of volition of grade one, five and eight were in great difference.3. Playing go can improve children's Creativity by comparing the sores of the group that played go, especially in terms of adventure, imagination and challenge. But it has nearly no impact on children's curiosity. Further analysis on gender and grade indicate that the main effect of gender was insignificant. Whereas the main effect of grade was significant on total scores, imagination, challenge and adventure, which demonstrated that the above dimensionalities of volition of grade one, five and eight were in great difference.In sum, we can conclude that go played an active role on children's attention, volition and creativity. Children's learning and the promotion of comprehensive constitution could be improved significantly if we educate children with the game of go in our daily teaching life. |
