The University Entrance Examination (UEE) is not only an assessment of students'learning achievement from primary school to senior high school, and also an important way to impact the real classroom. Reseach on the UEE will be valuable to the reform of mathematics curriculum. This paper will focus the analysis of the past ten years UEE in Jiangsu province based on a composite difficulty model developed by Bao [1]. Followings are some initial findings:(1)On the"Investigation"level, there are no significant difference between the national UEE and Jiangsu UEE(2)On the"Context"level, the national UEE as well as the Jiangsu UEE are increased in recent years, especially on the contexts related students'daily life.(3)On the"computation"level, the Jiangsu UEE is higher than the national UEE. There are much more items which need complicated computation in Jiangsu UEE than in national UEE.(4)On the"reasoning"level, the Jiangsu UEE also has advantages over the national UEE. The test items in Jiangsu UEE often needed more reasoning steps than that in the national UEE.(5)On the"topic coverage"level, there are more the items which covered by more three topics in Jiangsu UEE than in the national UEE. So, generally speaking, on the"computation","reasoning"and"topic coverage"levels, the Jiangsu UEE has some of advantage over its national counterpart. This finding shows that the Jiangsu UEE still put more attention on the traditional"Two Basics".(6)According the trends of over years of Jiangsu UEE and national UEE, the former has less coherence than the later. And it also need to be improved on"investigation level"and"context level"for both UEEs.Based the above findings, the paper tried to find some related factors and put forward some suggestions on the construction of UEE as well as the teaching of mathematics in senior high schools.
