The ministry of education promulgated《the Chemistry Curriculum Standard of Fulltime System Compulsory Education (experiment draft)》in 2001. The standard regarded science inquiring as the diverse teaching principle and studying mode, emphasized that the chemistry experiment became an important path of learning chemistry and realizing science inquiring, and fully valued important function of chemistry experiment in developing student's various ability.The paper regarded inquiring teaching and studying mode at home and abroad as base and chemistry experiments as main form of inquiring. Based on the curriculum principle of《the Chemistry Curriculum Standard of the Fulltime System Compulsory Education》, construction learning theory, cooperation learning theory and the teaching theory etc, according to experiences and mind developing level of middle school students, contents characteristics of middle chemistry course and relations of science, technique and societies, according to contents standard of《the Chemistry Curriculum Standard of the Fulltime System Compulsory Education》, knowledge order of《the standard experiment textbook of the compulsory education curriculum - chemistry》, the paper selected contents and efficiently combined class inquiring and experiment inquiring, systematically researched the mode, method, and project and practice problem of inquiring combination teaching. The main contents include the followed: First, theory researching of inquiring combination teaching: theory base, principle, fixed role position of teachers, essential elements, implement strategy and appraisement. Second, combination mode, method, selecting principle of contents and project. Third, combination teaching designing about"law of conservation of mass","the decontamination of water"and"catalyst of hydrogen peroxide decomposition". Fourth, practices researching: investigations on situation, necessity and possibilities of inquiring teaching and studying, evaluation of combination teaching in a few middle schools of Xining by questionnaire and interview.The combination teaching method of chemistry class inquiring and experiment inquiring attaches great importance to the education function of chemistry experiment. It can efficiently help students change studying habits, develop the interest of studying chemistry and improve inquiring ability. It also can change teacher's education ideas and behaviors, improve the teaching ability of teachers, change the traditional teaching method and teaching modes and deeply reform curriculum. If the middle school carries out the inquiring combination teaching, there are some difficulties at present. So the actuality need education section, school and teachers working hard continuously to improve the experiment conditions and build up a set of systematical overall evaluation mechanism to put the inquiring combination teaching into effect gradually.
