Teachers as the first resource in educational field are the key factor to improve educational quality and the core strength to promote significant educational reform. Teachers'education is an important part of educational reform and also the basis of education systematic project. The quality of teachers'education is directly related to success or failure of educational reform and that of a nation's educational cause as well as it's future and destiny. Facing the increasingly intensive competition, many countries regard the development of higher-quality education as their basic national policy and put teachers'education in the prior development. Under new circumstances, teachers'education in our country is facing severe challenge. With the development of our national economy and society in a new stage, socialist market, the gradual perfection of socialist marketing system and the constant expansion of opening-up, especially after China's entering WTO, the demands to laborers become higher and higher, and the people's desire to receive higher-level and higher-quality education are stronger and stronger. Therefore, higher standards are demanded for education and new requests demanded for the number and quality of teachers. Building a high-quality teaching staff becomes the key to ensuring the success of China's current Educational Reform. For this, this study attempts to make a systematic and reasonable exploration on the reform and development of China's current teachers'education, with the method of historical document analysis, comparison research and comprehensive analysis. This study adopts two logical clues. Based on the analysis of them, the study generalizes the characteristics of teachers'education in various stages, thus provides a general view of the reform and the development of teachers'education in China. The third part of the study takes America as the main reference. From a viewpoint of comparison, the study sorts the reform and development of teachers'education in America, generalizes its characteristics, main problems and successful experience, to provide some useful advice for the reform and development of teachers'education in China. On the basis of the static description in the previous paper, the fourth part introspects some problems in the reform of current teachers'education in China, and draws five important inspirations:â—‹1"To develop the economy, education should go first.","To develop education, teachers'education should go first."â—‹2 Raise teachers' social position and improve teachers'treatment, and strengthen human care to teachers.â—‹3 Establish dynamic teachers' education models, and merge education before vocation and education after vocation into a whole.â—‹4 Reform curriculum arrangement, optimize the curriculum structure and improve professional level of teachers.â—‹5 Make the teacher certification system strictly and perfectly.
