Harmonious society is a kind of ideal social state which people are pursuing: harmoniousness brings beauty. Harmonious state is the best state of everything, so it is also the pursuit of education. The essence of classroom teaching reform is to carry out quality-oriented education, induce students to learn on their own initiative, the teacher to create open and harmonious classroom teaching-learning atmosphere, then realize the teaching aim at last.Linguistics and educational psychologists have been analyzing and studying the iascape of the education environmrnt from different aspects. Actually speaking,what is harmonious classroom? A harmonious English cassroom should be a safe and comfortable space, a friendly and safe atmosphere which can motivate students'creative thinking and motivate them to learn actively on their own initiative. In a harmonious English learning classroom, the interpersonal relationship among the teacher and students is harmonious, equal and democratic; teacher and students turn to tolerate, accept and trust each other and are willing to cooperate. A harmonious English learning classroom can improve students'learning results, promote students'English level and benefit the healthy development of the teacher and students.Recently, our country is carring out new curriculum reform, although there is some improvement, there still exist some problems in classroom teaching especially in rural area, the auther found these problems during the research of Ping Shan Hui SheSenior High school:1. Current teaching process emphasizes the transfer of knowledge, neglects the cultivation of ability and communication of feelings, pays attention to the unification, neglect students'personality.2. Current teaching process emphasizes the teacher's teaching, neglect students'learning; students receive knowledge passively and remember it mechanically; the teacher and students are not equal, the teacher is unconditional pundit, while students must follow the teacher, that even makes the teacher-student relationship become intensive.3. Teaching activities are formalist, there is no real communication and the activity lacks of efficiency.4. The teacher thinks little of students'needs and existance and teaching process becomes the pure transfer of knowledge, students'learning lacks of initiative.Classroom instruction is the main channel to pass on knowledge and skills to students, so the elements of the classroom educational environment greatly affect the teaching result. Especially in rural senior high school such as Huishe senior high school,its development of economic and culture is very slow,so it is very necessary to offer students a harmonious English learning classroom environment because of the restriction of the outside surroundings and the condition of English learning. Moreover the new English Curriculum Standards requires that teachers should try to create a relaxed, democratic and harmonious educational atmosphere in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary for English teachers to control the change of the classroom environmental factors and the interaction between them, to create a harmonious English learning classroom so as to promote the healthy development of both teachers and students.By the study of domestic and international research achievements of educational environment, some strategiess on creating a harmonious English learning classroom were used in the auther's experiment:1. During classroom teaching, harminous interpersonal relationship should be created.2. The relaxed and cheerful mental environment also should be created .3. The teacher's charm of personality should be improved.4. The power of students'subjective initiative should be utilized.5. External environmental factors also should be utilized.It is proved by the auther,s practice that all the strategies above are effective, but the study on the establishment of a harmonious English learning classroom is of everlasting value. In order to achieve the goal to promote the overall development of students, there still are a lot of work to do for techers. The study on the creation of a harmonious English learning classroom is a long-term process and it is worth pursuing through teachers'life.
