A Study On Individualism Value Orientation Of Contemporary College Students

In recent decades, Western ideas of individualism constantly impact on Chinese society, and Impact on the values of Chinese citizens. As an important social group, college Students will be affected by Western ideas of individualism certainly. Many college students have a value orientation of individualism. The college students are the new century construction socialism and important force to revitalize the Chinese nation .The pros and cons of students values are closely related to the motherland's future and destiny. As so, we must take effective measures to rectify the values of individualism of college students.This article is divided into three parts. In the first part, I expound the concept of individualism and its process of evolution from the perspectives of China and the West, and then sum up the basic characteristics of individualism. In the second part, through the observation of the reality of college students and the actual values, I point out every performance of the value orientation of college student individualism, and analyze the reasons for contemporary college students having the value orientation of individualism from the objective factors and their own factors. These objective reasons include economic and social fields, the ideological and cultural fields, the field of education, and so on factors. On the other hand, some factors of students themselves are important reasons, and should not be overlooked. In the third part, basing on the analysis in the second part, I carefully elaborate the measures and the countermeasures to be taken.
