Research On Construction And Development Of Independent College In China

With the development of higher education in China, the independent college as a new pattern appeared currently. Since it differs from the traditional secondary teaching unit and private university which run by social strength, independent college is a higher educational institution of the undergraduate course with new mode and new mechanism. These independent colleges collect advantages of teaching, teachers'qualification, administration, educational resource and social funds from public university. It improves the development of our higher education.In 2003, the Ministry of Education took some action on independent college such as Notion about independent college with the new mechanism and mode of public university. Then the Ministry of Education held a video meeting about independent college. In this meeting, the Ministry of Education affirmed this kind of secondary college ( known as" independent college") that means such an educational innovation has gotten a developmental chance and political acception.Independent college is a production that higher education in China developed to a certain extent and it caters the people's demand of higher education. At the same time, the appearance of independent college is a result of the progress of society and popular higher education. It is rather significant to study and discuss some theories about independent college.This paper analyzed the current situation and researched the problem of independent college. Then, it put up some proposal to improve the healthy development of independent college which based on policy and systematical criterion.
