Studies related to the Communities of Practice local and abroad, have advanced many design models and practical cases. The emergence of revelant studies on the one hand description of the Community of Practice on the attractiveness of the researchers, but on the other hand, in view of the "learner-centered" community development unique objectives and requirements of the real situation and the complexity of concrete, it is difficult to provide a inclusive design model. Therefore, for us, the important question is based on the design through a case study to explore two Shanghai-based courses on curriculum reform implementation background, how the practice of community development, effective in promoting learner's learning and development, how to generate Suitable for school-based practice situation of the communities framework and design processes. This also constitutes an attempt to resolve the wood on two basic issues.The research question determines research method. This study adopts a design-based research method, which is a new research paradigm trying to organically integrate pure theory research and application research. This systemic and flexible research method aims at improving educational practice and distilling the design principles and theories on the basis of the collaboration between researchers and practitioners in real-world settings and through an iterative analysis, design, development and implementation.
