Environmental problems are one of the hottest topics/issues nowadays. Environmental Education has been regarded as the basic means to enhance the ideological, moral, scientific and cultural qualities of the whole nation in all the countries of the world. Environmental education can inspire the social groups and the individuals to gain the related environmental knowledge as soon as possible and develop systematic values of sustainable development. It can also promote people's mastering the abilities and skills to solve the environmental problems, which can encourage people's participation of various activities of social environment protection, developing the behavior pattern of sustainable development. However, the traditional state-run environmental education curriculum pays more attention to the teaching of environment knowledge, dominated by teachers'lecturing. Students are lack of the authentic experience and understanding of the environmental protection practice. New channels need to be explored for environmental education at school. While at the same time, a new round of reforms on the basic education curriculum is being vigorously carried out, one of whose highlights is the three-level curriculum pattern: national, local and school levels. Middle Schools characterize themselves by developing the school-based curriculum, which can satisfy the development needs of students. However, it is in need of themes and content. Therefore, environmental education and school-based curriculum are naturally combined.In this thesis, the author adopted an integrating method of document research, action research, experience summarization, and case study, endeavoring to highlight the practicality and inquiry. It developed the content of a series of theme study activities, which made students realize the seriousness and the pressingness of environment problems. The practical skills, the abilities to communicate, gather information, discover and solve the problems of students were well developed. Besides the subject consciousness, cooperation, creativity and consciousness of sustainable development of students were strengthened.The whole thesis develops the argumentation from the meaning of school-based curriculum of environmental education, the guiding thought of launching, measures, process, carrying out and evaluation, etc, which introduces the development process of school-based curriculum of environmental education in Wenzhou No.20 Middle School, including: the syllabus, textbook, arrangement of the teaching periods, configuration of equipment in the teaching places, the ways of teaching, evaluation of teaching, teachers'arrangement, etc. Many points are concluded on a low level of practice, so please point out the mistakes for correction if any.
