New curriculum reform advocates the comprehensive development of a spirit of innovation in the new century talents, arts education as the main contents of the education reform, which most of the value of art itself in its function, it can culture some Aesthetic capacity that other disciplines and channels can not provide; Arts education can train students to become all-round development of people and make students in the learning process gradually thickening its cultural enrichment. Traditional education tended to focus on language and mathematics intellectual development, the thinking way of its students is Linear and continuity, arts education will help to stimulate students perceptive and ways of thinking. Through arts education students can grasp the method of understanding human's ancient and modern experience, learn from and respect other people's way of thinking and expression, and enhance their own problem-solving abilities.In China, along with the further deepening implementation of reform, the quality of education has become the theme of China's education, arts education as the main ways and means to achieve quality education, it is the core content of Aesthetic Education, has aroused widespread concern in the community. The implementation of the new curriculum, confirmed arts education as a core curriculum in the schools education and had an important position, but in the specific implementation process, there are still many issues need to be further addressed.The subject begin with the arts education for students in Chinese cities, through the survey as well as interviews reveals Chinese urban middle school students'problem in arts education, including: arts class was inadequate, the lack of financial input into education; the effect of"examination-oriented education"is deep, arts education assessment unscientific; contingent of teachers is not high degree of specialization, training mechanisms is not very well, and improper teaching methods; students lack of the correct understanding of art education , parents lack sufficient understanding of the art education, parents of school children have utilitarian aims in teaching students ect. At the same time,through the further analysis of these issues, and a comparative study of the improvement of the art education at home and abroad, raised some countermeasures and suggestions to promoting China's arts education...
