Based on Gardner's theory and cognitive psychology, this paper tries to reveal students' intelligence preferences and aims to explore some speaking teaching styles in accordance to students' multiple intelligences. To achieve the goal, teachers have to overcome traditional views and change teaching methods or styles to meet the needs.Multiple Intelligences Theory (MIT) proposes that every student has at least more than eight intelligences. Teachers should provide appropriate ways to exert students' strong intelligences and develop their weak intelligences. The theory advocates that teachers should address students' individual and providing a range of activities and experiences to facilitate learning. In recent years, educators and researchers at home and abroad have been studying how to incorporate intelligences into various subjects' teaching. However, most researches on multiple intelligences are about native language or science subjects. Research about using MIT in English oral teaching is very few and limited. This thesis is to explore, the role and the practical teaching model of multileintelligences. in English oral teaching by experiment study. Two research questions have been raised in the paper. The first one is "Can the application of Mi-based oral teaching in senior school improve students' English learning interest?" The second one is "Can the application of Mi-based oral teaching in senior school improve students' English grades and thus aid senior English oral teaching?"The participants in this research project are senior students in Sanming No.9 and there are 50 students in each class. One class is treated as experiment group and another one is control group. The experiment group is given treatment, namely, using MIT in teaching while the control group is taught in traditional methods. After one term treatment, comparison about English learning interest and English grades are made in two classes. The results show that MIT play positive roles in oral teaching and learning; it can change teachers' traditional opinion towards students and traditional teaching styles. Hence, teachers are required to design multiform activities based on MIT to increase students' involvement, learning interest and practical ability.
