| Since the reform and open policy, China has made rapid progress in economic and political status has been improved continuously and the culture influence is expanding increasingly. The Chinese renaissance contains the renaissance of Chinese national sports. The approach lies in modernization. In the modernization course of China, how to modernize Chinese traditional sports is a task which is worth studying thoroughly . Traditional Wushu is representative item of Chinese traditional sports. Study shows that the development situation of traditional Wushu is not optimistic. The number of people who play Wushu is becoming less and less. People who is mastery of Wushu is becoming older and older. The investigators cannot help but appealing. The cradleland of Traditional Wushu is the place which has the deepest masses base . strengthening the study of its cradleland is no doubt one of the approaches to protect and develop it and make it a way of bodybuilding for the local people.Xingyiquan is one of the four famous Chinese traditional quan. Taigu county of Shanxi province is one of the earliest cradleland of xingyiquan and it is called "the home of xingyiquan". Taigu county is one of the places which has the most xingyiquan players. At present, the scholars have not done much research on the present situation of xingyiquan in its cradleland. There is very close history relationship between xingyiquan and xinyiquan. For taigu county, the number of xingyiquan players is much more the that of xinyiquan. As a result, using such research as law of documents and materials, investigation method, interview law, mathematics and physics statistics law, etc. this dissertation investigate and analyse the present development state of xingyiquan in Taigu county of Shanxi province—investigating the population state of xingyiquan players, the contention of xingyiquan, the state of xingyiquan organizations, and bring forward suggestions for the development of xingyiquan in Taigu county, hoping to offer certain academic and practical reference to the development of traditional wushu of our province as well as our country. Main conclusion as follows:1. At the aspect of age, gender, vocation, and study experice, xingyiquan players of Taigu county appear imbalance.2. Xingyiquan players of Taigu county choose different time and places to play as the matter of age, gender, vocation.3. Most xingyiquan players of Taigu county choose playground or their courtyard to play xingyiquan.4. the traditional family transfer has come to fade out from the history stage and acknowledging master still has strong vitality.5. The motivation of xingyiquan players of Taigu county mostly belong to interior motivation and straight motivation.6. xingyiquan players of modern times believe that body keeping is the first value. Most xingyiquan players are confident for the future of xingyiquan.7. results of matches show that xingyiquan of Taigu county remains advantage in Shanxi province even in the whole country.8. Xingyiquan schools of Taigu county do great contributions for the activities of entertainment and body keeping of Taigu county, meanwhile, they make it possible for the traditional wushu to come down continuously.9. Xingyiquan is taught in several main schools of Taigu county in a certain scale. But the foundation is very weak in the smaller schools, especially in the schools of rural areas.10. The reason why the situation of Taigu xingyiquan is worse than that of before lies mainly in the outside cause and the inner cause is in the second place.in allusion to the conclusion above, the Countermeasures and suggestions are given as follows:1. Xingyiquan players updating their concept is the precondition of the development of xingyiquan2. By dint of culture is the necessary trend of the development of xingyiquan.3. Sustaining from the government is the iron backup force of the development of xingyiquan.4. The combination between xingyiquan and the education cause is the long-term policy of the development of xingyiquan.
