On Tao Xingzhi's Rural Educational Thoughts And Its Enlightenment On Chinese New Countryside Construction

Rural education is the important basis of new countryside construction .In the 1920s - 1930s,Tao Xingzhi made a lot of rural educational practices and set up rural educational theory, which made an important reference for the present new countryside construction. This paper presents the implication and characteristics of new countryside construction, rural educational function on new countryside construction as well as the problem existing in rural education. It systematically studies Tao Xingzhi's rural educational thoughts and practices . The paper also makes an analysis of the social and historical background of Tao's rural educational thoughts , the rural educational practices , the criticism of traditional education, the recognition of the importance and function of rural education, the goal and content of rural education ,the method and teaching staffs of rural education. It reveals the enlightenment of Tao' thoughts on Chinese present rural educational reform, which may contribute to it and the new socialist countryside construction.
