| Based on the material analyses and questionnaire survey, the paper makes the investigation on RE. teaching for the overweight students in junior high school of Shanxi Province, with the aim to find out the current condition and law of P.E. teaching, providing reference for P.E. teachers and P.E. class planning.The result shows: (1) For the overweight students, the main teaching objective is to improve physical fitness, acquire knowledge and skills of P.E. and foster their will; however, there is need for students to reduce weight as well as extra fat, which teachers pay no enough attention to. (2) Teachers' opinions are in contradiction with students' reflections in terms of implementing teaching principle as teaching in accordance with students' aptitude. (3) The traditional teaching model is more common in P.E. course, without using some training methods for reference to the overweight P.E. teaching creatively. In view of class form in P.E., there is no dividing class in accordance with students' physical condition. (4) The teaching content focus on track field and gymnastics in practice, basic knowledge in P.E. in theory. (5) In junior high school, more than half of students overweight aren't fond of P.E. for little interest and being afraid of fatigue; By virtue of schooling, they have to take P.E. course; the relationship between students and teachers is really tense for lack of praise and encouragement; the overweight is more nervous in the examination, under the strong pressure of study in P.E. (6) Learning evaluation of students is paid less attention, and more attention is to P.E. knowledge and skills; P.E. teachers evaluation is still chief. (7) Contrary to setting-up exercises, extracurricular athletics develop slowly, less than 30 minutes each time for the overweight. The overweight is keen on extracurricular athletics, with few opportunities to participate in. (8) The parents of the overweight care less for children's physical exercises.Suggestions: (1) when planning teaching objective, the P.E. teachers should take students' requirements into account as the reduction of weight and extra. (2) In teaching organization, putting the fitness and the overweight in different classes can create better psychological environment so as to improve teaching effect. (3) In teaching methods, reference for some training methods contribute to the development of P.E. (4) when planning teaching content, some events students are in interest should be in consideration. (5) Evaluation form should combine teachers with students' evaluation, in content stressing students' behavior and attitude. (6) Extracurricular activities should be in good organization and plan. (7) The school leaders should attach importance to exercises; parents should play a supporting role in fostering healthy life habit through arranging students' diet, exercises and sleep. |
