Human-Oriented conception is the essence of Party's Scientific and Evolutional Notion, demonstrating the basic principle of Marxist materialistic historicism. It is at the same time deeply rooted in Chinese political and cultural tradition, and is the reflection of contemporary social reality, representing the evolutional notion, administrative art, and the value orientation of Socialism with Chinese characteristics. Human-Based conception, thus, should be the theoretical premise in our works. The notion of"Student-Orientation"is proposed in college education, basing on Marxist Human-Oriented conception and Party's Scientific and Evolutional Notion. In today's world of intellectual economy, talented people with most advanced knowledge and creativity are the key point in the competition between nations, and have become the symbol of national power. These talented people are cultivated through education, especially college level education. The target, responsibility and function of our nation's college education have put pressure on colleges to bring out professional talents to construct our country. That's why"Student-Orientation"equals Human-Oriented conception in the context of college education. We have to concentrate our work on meeting the needs of students, and provide every possible condition to ensure their self-development.The shift of focusing point on college education from politics (after the founding of PRC) to economy (after the Opening Policy) does not change the fact that students'own value, rights, and needs are omitted. China is now in the process of major economical change in ownership. The society is overwhelmingly indulged in the increase of material accumulation, but to certain extent pays less attention to the needs of people. Represented in college education, our educational reform on management system is dealing only with forms, but not contents, and official adjustment is rather weak. An education system of multiplicity, which is intimately related to the development of students, is not constructed to conform to the need of enlarged college education. The level of education keeps going upward, resulting in the imbalance of supply and demand in human resource markets. What's more, the growing speed of tuition fee surpasses that of the income of general citizens. Many students from poor families have lost the opportunity to pursue their study. The fairness of college education is strongly questioned. And, the rigid teaching mode pays more attention on material than on human beings, which leads to the degeneration of humanism.Through rational reflection, and facing the popularization and internationalization of college education taking place in China, we must carry out Party's education policy under new condition, basing on Scientific and Evolutional Notion. The government should improve the service system for college education, and make policies according to the needs of the students. Also the government should take full responsibility in macro-adjustment, to establish a reasonable education structure, and to improve the subsidization system to solve the tuition problem for students from poor families. The colleges have to ensure the dominate role of students. They should put the development of students on priority, and to carry out this concept in all works related to teaching and management. The society is supposed to provide a"Student-Oriented"environment. Only through the cooperation of society, government and the whole college education system to respect the rights, to listen to the minds, and to satisfy the needs of students, can the notion of"Student-Orientation"be a successful one. And only through which can realize our strategy of invigorating the country through science, technology and education, and the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development.
