China and Japan are near neighbors, They had friendly contacts about more than 2000 years.They have similarities in whether traditional culture, history or the development of education process. In the history and cultural exchanges,the two countries had formed a close contact. Predecessors made a comparative analysis of ideology education in music schools. The different ideology determine different comprehension of music curriculum objectives and in the aspects of training the person's quality, it will eventually achieve different development and expected level. This paper will compare China and Japan's school music curriculum objectives meanwhile analysis the curriculum theory's effect upon music curriculum objectives, reveal the theoretical support from the perspective of educational philosophic and find the regularity of drawing up music curriculum objectives in order to probe it's tendency of developing.This paper is divided into the following four parts:1. The paper of exordium beginning with the backgroud and significance of the selected topic, introduce predecessor's research of this areas then pointed out the research methods in this subject.2. The second part is "Curriculum and Curriculum objective", which introduce the concept and classify of curriculum/curriculum objective. According to the knowledge of curriculum, the writter summarized the music curriculum and music curriculum objectives.3. The third part is the focus of this papers, according to time, it divided into three periods to compare China and Japan's school music curriculum objectives: Chinese late Qing dynasty to the foundation of China and Japan's "wei xin" period; Second, the foundation of China and Japan after the Second World War; Third, the 21st century China and Japan's school music curriculum objectives.The comparison including music curriculum objectives's basic theory, realms and formulation. Both of them show the similarities and differences between the two countries's development of school music curriculum objectives.4. The fourth part "Conclusion" is the essence of this paper. It summarizes the inspiration of Janpan's development of music curriculum objectives and makes some suggestions from the respect of educational philosophy and curriculum theory with expect to provide useful reference for current or future construction of the music curriculum objectives system in China.
