Based on the foreign academic achievements and that of Taiwan area on teaching beliefs, this thesis tries to offer an in-depth research on the relationship between teacher's beliefs and their teaching behaviors on the compulsory education level, which, the author hopes, would be helpful for the improvement of teaching quality and rectification some inequalities in elementary schools and junior high schools.This study is divided into three sections. Sectionâ… is about the compilation of quantified table, on the basis of recent academic achievements, for the purpose of describing teacher's beliefs on the compulsory education level. Sectionâ…¡is the other series of quantified table about the structure and characteristic of teacher's behaviors. Sectionâ…¢is about the relationship between teacher's beliefs and behaviors.Conclusion: on the the compulsory education level, the teachers' high-level view on their own roles and the equally high-level expectation on students constitute the background against which the teacher's behaviors are displayed, which tries to enhance the students' academic performance in educational practice. If teachers make academic achievement (or "scores") the primary target of their work, score-oriented behaviors may result, which become the reason accounting for the disparity between the academically excellent students and average students; in addition, teachers' self-image of their own roles, the emphasis on students' academic achievements, especially the high expectations on students directly combined to cause paying their efforts in education; lastly teachers' high the high expectation on students and classroom environments also affects the interaction between teachers and students.
