With the high development of industry of modern times, the systematic school teaching came into being. As a result, the choice of teaching in class became the main method of achieving the teaching goal. From the view of new curriculum theories, teaching is not only the process of the transfer of knowledge, the feedback of information, but also the intercourse of spirits, wits and emotions between teachers and students. Teaching in class, as a complex and changeable process, its uncertainty and indeterminism calls for the flexible ability of teachers in controlling and guiding the teaching activities in class. However, facing the lively and characteristic individual with unique features, this traditional teaching method, couldn't avoid falling into reutilization and immobilization, thus causing the limit to the overall development of the students. Therefore, paying a special attention to the teaching in class, endowing the class with the meaning and value of life has became one of the demands of teaching reform in primary and secondary education of China .The teaching wits of the class refer to the swift response of the teachers to the emergencies of class, including the keen observation, accurate analysis and the rapid rearrangement of the teaching process. The application of teaching wits in class is not only the highly creative teaching activities of class, but also the unification of the teachers'monitoring capability and the high skilled and flexible teaching wits.In the traditional teaching activities, people used to focus on the effective teaching of the teachers and ignored the behavior and performance of the students. While the contemporary education theories put more emphases on both the effectiveness of the teaching activities, and the characteristics of the educators. The development of the students is not only the goal of the teaching, but also the fundamental basis of teaching. The stage of high school is a special stage for everyone in one's life. As a special group, the students of high school have their own unique psychological and characteristic personality, especially the strong thirst for knowledge, active participation and the courageous challenges against the dignity and prestige of the teachers. At the same time, they have the distinctive features of diffidence, restlessness and disguise. Obviously, this makes the teaching in the class of the high school more instable, and the guidance and monitoring of the emergencies especially difficult and challengeable. But so far, the relevant researches on this specific teaching situation and how to develop the ability of teaching wits of class of high school teachers is very rare. From this aspect, by analyzing the characteristics of the high School students in 4 parts in detail, this essay aims to seek for the required abilities of high school teachers to apply the teaching wits of class as well as the most efficient ways to cultivate the abilities of it, so as to give some guidance for the high school teachers to apply the strategies of teaching wits more effectively, thus causing the efficiency of teaching activities in class.The first part of introduction firstly represents the present research achievements on the teaching wits and its definitions of the teaching wits in class as well as the significance of this research. The flexible teaching wits of class can not only help to keep the necessary orders of class, but also motivate the students'potential, thus giving the necessary guidance to the students'studying and causing the improvement of the learning efficiency.The second part mainly deals with the supporting theories of applying the teaching wits in class of high school. That is the demands of the new education tendency and the humanism learning theory.The third part analyses the necessities of applying the teaching wits of class for the high school teachers from the two aspects. The application is demanded by the characteristics of the education of our country and the specific psychological development stages of the high school students. This part stresses the importance of the understanding , consideration, guidance and active intercommunication between the teachers and the students in face of emergencies in class, rather than the strict discipline and rigid standards . The four part, discusses the requirements for the high school teachers to apply the teaching wits of class and offers several possible ways to cultivate the required abilities. On the whole, the teachers of modern times should be always focusing on the self-development. Every teacher must regard self-education as his life-long task; so as to broaden his knowledge, form a good psychological quality, give more self-reflections and reflect more often on the teaching experience from time to time.From all the above, we can say that in the process of the transfer of knowledge, teacher is not confined to the conveyer of the knowledge, but also a monitor of the whole teaching process, acting as an organizer and a manager, trying to get the harmony and the unification of emotions, intercourses and teaching goals by applying the teaching wits of class to the practical teaching flexibly. The process of teaching in class has already become the mutual one of organization and guidance between the teachers and the students. And consequently, both the teaching goal and the development of both the teachers and the students can be achieved simultaneously and thoroughly as well.
