The Confucianism as the mother current of China can not be neglected in the result of China's civilization being the unique lasting culture in the world. The Confucianism takes the humanist spirit as its essential stipulation, pays close attention to the value and meaning of what make humans human, pursues the proper existing way of human and the way of lifting the humanity. Mencius as one of the classical books of Confucianism inherits and carries forward the thought of Confucius, and can embody the spiritual of Confucianism; however, scholars always pay their attentions to the humanist spirit showed in Analects or the Confucian School based on the ideology of Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi, there are few articles about Mencius up to now, especially in the Chinese educational circle. So the writer wants to sum up and organize the perspectives and arguments, which are scattered in the other articles and works on the humanist spirit of Mencius, to explore the educational value of it and the enlightening value to revise the modern education value.'What makes humans human'and'what makes the possibility of humans human'is the eternal topic of people with lofty ideals at all times and in all over the world, and it is also the original intention of the Confucianism. However, with the development of human society and the call of industry revolution,'knowledge is power'is the strongest sound of the times; the era is coming into the period of scientific logos above everything else, thus the educational value embodies its function on creating material wealth but losing the internal needs of human's existence and the developmental nature——the humanist spirit, it brings on some social questions, even comes down to the existence of human beings. Therefore, studying Mencius, exploring the humanist spirit and educational value have some theoretical and realistically significance. Re-minding the topic of what makes humans human to read and study the connotation of the humanity features, the humanism feature, the humanist feature and the humanitarian feature in Mencius, then define the educational value of the humanist spirit in it from the showing of its educational thought, educational content and educational policy, explore the effect and influence of Mencius'humanist spirit in forming the Chinese culture and the Chinese ethos, and especially the enlightening value to modern education value. Posing that benevolence and unrighteousness are the key value of modern education, and subjective personality should hold the humanist spirit and scientific spirit together in the contemporary era.Research Methods:1. Methods of documentation: to search, collect, analyze and sum up the relative literatures and articles for exploring the essence and the internal educational value of Mencius'humanist spirit in order to support the study scientifically, completely and accurately.2. Comparative method: the ideology of Mencius comes from the doctrine of Confucius; therefore compare Analects with Mencius to explore the similarities and differences of doctrine between Confucius and Mencius, analyze the contribution of Mencius in forming the Chinese culture and the Chinese ethos, and the humanist spirit, educational value showing in Mencius.
