First of all, this article explores the connotation of general education, defines explicitly the conception of general education and its curriculum; and analyzes the slimily progress and different expression in the history of Chinese general curriculum and America's; then it chooses few universities for example, compare the objection in implementations of these two countries; on this basic, analyzes particularly the defect in our general education, in the end, give some valuable suggestions.The whole article is divided into four branches:Firstly, it explores the connotation, emphasizes the conception, and compares the slimily notions.Secondly, it introduces the history of Chinese general curriculum and American's, reviews the expression of general education in different stage, and presents the development of general education.Thirdly, it analyzes and compares the general education today: using many precedents to show the shape of today's general education, and using charts to emerge the similar and differentia in objective, structure and type of general curriculum.Lastly, it ponders over the development of our general education. On the basic of before sections, it gives some valuable suggestions.
