With the advancing construction of both the life learning and learning-type society in our country, governments and educational organizations of all levels are all enforcing their support for the educating of the migrant workers. As the past researches revealed, because of the complex distribution and the contradiction between work and learning, though many migrant workers have the claims for the further education and professional training, they lack the conditions for the entry into formal educational Organizations. Autonomous learning, to a proportion of the young migrant workers, should be a very important learning way outside the eight-hour work instead of a Expediency.This research is based on the educational project done by "ECNU Migrant Workers' Further Education Project Team " in the small-scale learning center of the Yongsheng Community in Malu Town , Jiading District of Shanghai. Through behavioral research methodology, questionnaires and close interviews, connected with the theories and. the previous studies, the thesis, by studying the interrelations between the migrant workers' learning purposes, strategies and information education and their autonomous learning abilities, aims to reveal the learning ability and characteristics of the migrant workers in circumstances of the Internet and multimedia by applying various learning resources. The first part of the thesis introduces the common mechanism of autonomous learning through the autonomous learning-related theories and studies. Base on this, it reveals the factors that affect their autonomous learning abilities by analyzing their current codes in their autonomous learning with the application of the modern educational faculties. The third part introduces the processes of the two teaching experiments in this research. The fourth part, after the processing of the obtained data, illustrates the relativity between the migrant workers' degrees, occupations, information education, and so on and their purposes and means in their autonomous learning. It also reveals the major difficulties and problems they have when studying in circumstances of multimedia. The thesis finally puts forward the strategies of learning introduction and improving autonomous learning abilities and endeavors to produce some practicable suggestions for the construction of the community multimedia learning centers that caters for the migrant workers.
