Curriculum reform requires teachers to be the researcher of curriculum and instruction, and supplies research space to teachers. But at a long time, teachers in the elementary and high schools in defect of research consciousness and ability. Many schools choose to collaborate with universities . University and school collaboration has a long history, then what's the relationship between U-S collaborative research and "teacher as researcher", what's the meaning of U-S collaborative research to the teachers when they want to do research, how can U-S collaborative research to promote teachers to be researcher, these questions are what I try to answer.This thesis consists of six parts. Part one: introduction, simply introducing the question, methods and meanings. Part two: definition, try to classify the U-S collaboration in the history according to the teacher's role in the collaboration. Part three: expound the meaning of U-S collaborative research to the teachers when they want to do research, include help the teachers to set correct research consciousness and obtain research ability, and U-S collaborative research is important to form "research community". Part four: how can U-S collaborative research to promote teachers to be researcher. Part five: on the basis of the collaborative research between the H University and four elementary schools in W city, I try to analysis three phenomena in the U-S collaboration, which is teachers give up the research, why they give up. Part six: giving four pieces of advice of countermeasure, at last, I set forth some thinking of "teacher as researcher".This thesis put emphasize on theory, attaching some practical cases' analysis which makes the readers understand sufficiently the difficult of teachers to be researchers. Ultimately, it can bring some illumination and consideration for our teaching staff, especially, pedagogical practitioners in schools.
