Study On Formation And Development Of Fujian Postgraduate Education

The postgraduate education in Fujian Province is the important part of higher education in the province. With a long history of more than 80 years for running a school, it can trace back to the twenties of the 20th century. It holds an important position in the development of higher education in Fujian. Under the background of the development of the postgraduate education, Fujian postgraduate education has been constantly developing, from scratch, from small to large. Because of the characteristics of geographical position and culture development, the postgraduate education of Fujian Province, apart from sharing those common characteristics with the whole nation, has formed its own characteristics. This paper aims at clarifying the characteristics of the formation and development process of Fujian postgraduate education. We then analyze the process and cause of Fujian postgraduate education in each stage, explain its important role in the development of Fujian higher education. Finally we analyze the problems of the present postgraduate education in Fujian Province, put forward some methods to solve them.
