This research mainly aims at the learners' learning effects with different methods of guiding from the worked example of chemical calculation. We' ve studied the examples of chemical calculation of the grade one students in senior middle school by the approaches of literature study, demonstration study, oral reports and analyses. The result shows: 1. The effect of self-study is superior to the effect of traditional teaching; 2. During the course of self-study, if the teacher guides students timely, it can benefit the transfer of knowledge and the learning effect is obviously superior to those learners without any guides; 3. Guide after the students' self-study is better than to do it before their self-study and the accuracy of transfer of knowledge is higher; 4. The study of examples and methods of guiding affect the medium students mostly. Furthermore, students with different foundations need different guiding contents and emphases. According to the results of the study and oral reports analyses, we put forward following suggestions: 1. Instructs the student to study independently the type example, promotion knowledge systematization; 2. Guide the students according to their foundations; 3. The way guide after the students' self-study is better; 4. Pay more attention to the teaching of basic knowledge such as chemical concepts and principles.
