With the coming of the information society, information is not a new concept now, but a existing reality, as American forecaster J. International competition dominated by contesting material and energy has changed into one dominated by contesting advantageous information as information becomes strategic resource. American futurologist also stated that one who commands information controls the internet controls the whole world. In the future competition, those who are in the ascendant of information resource will become the winner.Information technology marked by computer and internet technology has been extensively used in all fields of society and has changed people's living and learning styles step by step. Especially the development of internet makes it possible that in any time and any place any one of any level can acquire knowledge and information. Therefore, for modern people the importance of knowledge quantity has been weakened while the ability of acquiring utilizing knowledge has been strengthened relatively. The speed of updating knowledge has become faster and faster. It is impossible that the school education provides students with all knowledge, information and skills. The key is to develop students' comprehensive ability of acquiring, processing and utilizing information in order to make students become "all-life-learners" and creative explorers.The comprehensive ability of information has become the basis of information society. The talents more capable of processing information have been the focus of competition in information age. Cultivating this kind of talents has been the emphasis of educational reformation. It is also an effective way cultivate high school students' comprehensive information ability by way of website construction in the science technology education. The main purpose of science technology education is to develop students' ability of acquiring and processing information to make students command the basic knowledge and practical skills of information collecting, processing and transmitting and make use of information actively in order to solve practical problems. Meantime, it also aims at cultivating students' proper concept of morality and laws and aesthetic ability of tasting, appreciating and creating, which is embodied in the website construction in science technology education.Considering the features of information age and the requirements for the talents, this paper analyzes the connotation and constitution of high students' comprehensive information ability, illustrates the importance of website construction for cultivating and enhancing it through the author's practice. It also gives some new considerations of how to develop it by way of website construction with the hope that it would be useful to enhance high school students' comprehensive ability.
