Adult learning motivation, learning satisfaction and the relationship between them have a profound significance to adult education administration. Though many researches have been made on them in China and abroad, few researches are carried out on learning motivation and learning satisfaction of Chinese adult learners at the RTV universities. The thesis aims at understanding the relationship between them fully through analytical researches on adult learners at Anqing RTV University as objects. The objective of the thesis is to provide supporting material for improving teaching and give some advice on teaching administration.The structure of the thesis is as follows: firstly the development of the researches on learning motivation and learning satisfaction was reviewed. According to the literature review it is found that adult learning motivation is related with age, gender, education, marital status and job and adult learning satisfaction is related with age, gender, education, marital status. Secondly, two questionnaires based on the researches on adult learning were designed for data collection - "Questionnaire of learning motivation" and "Questionnaire of learning satisfaction". The questionnaires are suited to the characteristics of the objects and enable us to get a systematic understanding of learning motivation and learning satisfaction. This research aims to understand adult learning motivation in six aspects: cognitive interest, professional advancement, escape/stimulation, social service, external expectation and social interest and understand adult learning satisfaction in six aspects: learning achievement, entrance education ,tutorial teaching, course content, learning environment, learning support service in Anqing RTV University by questionnaires with 1235 adult learners of open education as objects and probe into the relationship between them . The data were collected and analyzed through software according to individual background information: gender, age, marital status, type of profession, length of work, number of course.The conclusions of this study are as follows: The learners of Anqing TVU perceived an upper level on "learning motivation", and the average was 3.48.The learners of Anqing TVU perceived an upper level on "learner satisfaction", and the average was 4.02.The learners of Anqing TVU have different perceptions of "learning motivation" in company with the different demographic variables. In terms of sex, age, profession, marriage, service years and majored amounts have significant differences in "learning motivation". The learners of Anqing TVU have different perceptions of "learner satisfaction" in company of the different demographic variables. In terms of profession and majored amounts have significant difference in "learner satisfaction". There are positive and strongly significant correlations between learning motivation and learner satisfaction. Learning motivation has predictive efficacy for all the dimensions of learner satisfaction degree and the ranking.Lastly, based on the literature review and the results of this research analyses, some suggestions for administrations are offered as follows: Take advantage of the related resources, and set up Community University. Understand the learners' objectives, and develop their positive learning attitude. Find the drop-out reasons of students, and improve the administrative methods accordingly. Choose multi-evaluation approaches to evaluate the learners' achievement. Set up different courses to meet learners' specific requirements. Provide support in learning methods, learning resources and technological means for learner distance autonomy. |
