As we know, the ultimate goal of language learning is to be able to communicate with it as a vehicle while oral communication is given a priority when communication is referred to. There is no question that oral ability is of great significance to meet the social needs. But for a long time, under the pressure of entering university examination, the middle school students only take English as one of the major subjects for entering the university, thus overlook the real goal for learning a foreign language. In order to become a university student, both teachers and students are busy doing a lot of tests. They have no time, no energy, no environment and even no motivation and interest to practice their oral English. As a result, the communicative competence, especially the oral communicative ability of the middle school students is inferior, which is obviously deviated away from the ultimate goal of learning a foreign language.This thesis consists of the following chapters.The first chapter is introduction. The author talks about the background of the thesis and then puts forth the outline of the thesis.The second chapter mainly reviews the relevant theories and studies on oral English development and classroom interaction.The third chapter presents the research method and the research question will be presented: Does classroom interaction through task-based learning have positive influence on oral English proficiency, especially learners' accuracy, fluency and complexity of sentences?The author applies respectively the traditional teaching model and the interactive...
