Research On The Elementary School English Teachers' Training Program In The Wuxi City

During the past several years, as the education reform in China keeps developing, the English curriculum in the elementary school has become the primary concern of not only the education government, but also all those who care education. The researches on the elementary school English teaching in and out of the country, have announced the importance of the role of teachers in English teaching. However, there lacks systematic and thorough investigation into the design of the English teachers' training program in academy. This paper gives an initial design of the training program to the English teacher in primary school based on a fundamental and deep survey into the teachers in Wuxi, with the goal of providing a practical training method, and promoting the reforms of the primary school English curriculum. There are three parts in this paper: Part I is the introduction. In this part, I address that training is necessary for implementing education for all-round development and meeting the need of the curriculum reforms; Training is important to realize and accelerate the growth of the teachers; Training is essential to adapt to the current need and improve the teacher troop' present situation. And I come to the conclusion of the importance of the training program from these three aspects. At the same time, I comment on the research level of the training to the domestic English teacher, analyze its specialties and obtain beneficial enlightenment from it.
