| Thesis statement: For an English teacher whose native language isChinese, it is highly necessary to make good use of the language arts.It is well known that language and its arts play an important role in our real lives. A kid in China should study language (Chinese) from primary school to college; and in USA, Language Arts is a required course for every child at school age. As for teachers, especially foreign language teachers, the language arts are further related to Educational Science, Psychology, Psycholinguistics, as well as the difference between Chinese culture and English culture.As most English teachers in China are native-born Chinese, the teachers are also learners in a way. Compared with their students, they know more, just because they start earlier. How to use interlanguage to teach is a ubiquitous problem. In other words, it is hard and necessary for an English teacher how to use the language arts in teaching practice.In modern times, more researches on teachers' language are needed to direct teachers' work. As a result, what we need to do is to search for some theoretic or practical evidences by analyzing and discussing the questions resulted by unapt language that teachers use in the classroom, and find out approaches to improve teachers' commitments of language, which can play a big part on improving the teaching efficiency in English classroom of our country.The thesis can be divided into 6 parts: the first part is a preface, in this part, I point out the significance of the language arts for teachers by analyzing and discussing the problems caused by the unapt language; the second part is for literature review, where the related researches from domestic and international experts or scholars are mentioned, including the conditions for second language learning, teachers' roles, teacher's commitments; the third part is about the role of teacher's language in English classrooms as well as the language characteristics of excellent teachers; in the fourth... |
