Content: Teacher is the basis of education. With the increasing of the disparity of different regions, the demands for teacher in underdeveloped area have become more and more diversified and complex.By system analyzing and investigating teacher demand in underdeveloped area, in terms of basic education, this thesis has carried on researches of teacher education reform.With system theory introduced first, the thesis defines some important factors that influence teacher education system from the point of teacher demand in basic education. The system theory is the theoretical foundation of the research.The author make a case study within Jiangxi Province, and make a concrete and complete analyses on current situation of teacher demand of underdeveloped area in basic education, and concludes the major problems in China are: the quantity is inadequate and quality needs improving and structure need adjustment.In the last part, the paper provides several proposals that make up the initiative to reform and develop teacher education. This thesis also made some useful exploration to improve teacher education servicing basic education.The main methods used in the research are documentation method, Delphi technique, comparative method, etc.
