Because of the special historical background and unique identity of Hong Kong, international schools in Hong Kong show more characteristics of school-running comparing with international schools in other countries or regions. Such features are in conformity with the complex postmodernism culture of Hong Kong. Based on the present findings and a historical narration, this paper tries to discover and prove four characteristics in school-running of the international schools in Hong Kong through employing some correlative postmodernism theories and analyzing their teaching goal, operation modes, curriculum, teachers, students and management , and hopes to enhance the weak study on this sector. This paper can be divided into four sections:Section one is an introduction to this paper including the research background, the present findings, research methods , logic of study and the efficient amse for choosing this object . Two important terms: international schools and international schools in Hong Kong are also briefly defined in this part.Section two is a brief historical narration of the international schools in Hong Kong.
