"Task-based Learning" Method Applied In Senior English Reading

L2 reading comprehension plays an important part in senior English. How to make students exert their autonomy and motivate them to improve their reading has been the important subject the teachers of foreign language are concerned with.The purpose of this paper is make the simple analysis of the "TBL" method, utilizethe theories of input hypothesis, communication strategy, interact ional modification to try the "TBL" teaching method to form a student-centred learning circle, to emphasizethe meaning of the language through top-down teaching and learning methods.According to the principles of "TBL"methed , the strategies of "TBL" reading ,and the procedures of task finishing, the reading task can be divided into pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading.The task of pre-reading means a brief introduction of some background knowledge, new topics, key words, students are guided to make full use of their former language to make a good preparation for the reading material they are going to meet.The task of while-reading is divided into three steps: skimming, scanning and intensive reading. Skimming means quickly running one's eyes across a whole text to get the main idea of the material. Scanning means quickly searching for some particular piece or pieces of information in a text. Intensive reading refers to the language points study.The task of post-reading refers to a retelling of a story, a summary of an argument or a further discussion to deepen the main idea of the reading material and a relevant project can be put forward after discussion..By using a constructive approach, the writer carried out a teaching reform experiment between the two classes which she was teaching.
