The Study On Cognition Of Family Violence Among Population In Weihai

RESEARCH BACKGROUNDFamily is one of the cells of society. Family with harmony and peace will be great benefit to children's growing and development. Domestic violence has been a world public problem due to destroying the harmony of both family and society. The action creed promulgated on the fourth women convention of united nation defined the violent behavior for women for the first time that including any violent action based on sexual identity on public and family life, the hurt and pain in body and mind, and the threat. Ten years passed from the fourth women convention of united nation. We addressed on the resident's cognition degree for the domestic violence, aimed to decrease effectively the domestic violence.RESEARCH OBJECTIVESThis study analyzed the cognition states and affective factors of rural and urban residences for the domestic violence by random sampling survey in Weihai city, tried to provide the preventive and control countermeasure for the occurrence of domestic violence, increase the life quality of residences and whole culture of people, promote the social healthy and steady development.RESEARCH METHODThe stratified multi-stage cluster random sampling method was used in the survey. In total, 12 towns, 72 villages and 8600 households were included into the sample.The data collected included: 1) family information such as decision making and income; 2) personal information such as gender and age; 3) cognition towards family violence.
