The basic physical concept is the core of physical study. In the past more than 30 years, the research regarding student's understanding of scientific concept and concept change has been a focus study in international education of science all the time. The research approach has characteristics. The research contents involve mechanics, calorifics, optics, electricity, modern physics, quantum mechanics, etc. The research of mechanics field is concentrated and thorough. The electromagnetism concept is the core contents of the high school physics knowledge. Because of its abstraction, so it is one of the contents of the more difficult comprehension at the same time. In this research the investigator intended to make use of the production from the abroad and to abundant our country the research contents that the physics concept study of the high school. Understanding the preconception or misconception in the field of electromagnetism of high school student can facilitate teachers to hold student's existing knowledge experience better. Understanding the reason for student's misconception forms and individual difference can help teachers choose the teaching method effectively, and help students change the way of studying and constructing the scientific knowledge frame.In the theoretical research part, this dissertation regards relevant theories of studying in concept as guidelines, combining the characteristic of physics discipline. The research contents focuses on the characteristic to the physical concept, the formof the physical concept, the cognitive factors working on the physical concept to form, and the diversity that the physical concept formed. The investigator also explains the domestic and international research which studies on the electromagnetism concept learning, including the process of CSEM questionnaire working out, the survey of quality analysis and its application study. In the practice research part, the investigator carries on the item analysis to CSEM questionnaire through the initial survey at first and chooses some topics for formal test. Then the investigator adopted questionnaire test to 215 students in Senior two from three high schools in Chongqing and interviewed some students in the formal test and collected the relevant data of the misconception and the cause of high school student's electromagnetism conception. After analyzing and putting it in order, we got the following conclusions:1. Some topics of CSEM questionnaire for ascertaining Chinese students' misconception in electromagnetism study are applicable.2. The constructing level of electromagnetism concept for Chinese students is low. There are more reasons for the misconception forms, such as the influence of the preconception and the wrong construction of physical model, etc. It has similarity and difference in misconception between Chinese students and American undergraduates.3. In this test, the school type is the only prominent reason of causing the difference on the test score. The main effect on the sex, mutual effect on the sex and school are not obvious.Finally, the investigator gives some teaching advice for changing the electromagnetism misconceptions, which are found in the investigation. At last, there are some problems remained to further probe into and study.
