This article is a deep discription of a village. Through the author's observation of the villager's daily life and the understanding of their logic of action, the author displays the mode of a village administration to a Hakka village.From the perspective of action units, Jian is a village which has a "family-clan" structure with dual identification. In the village, families and patriarchal clans are the principal action units, and they are the key in the village administration. People's communication is complied to Diversity-orderly Structure, All of this keeps Jian a traditional village.However, through the oberservation to the "Circle" in Jian we can see that it is not a closed village as we imagined, but an open one. Jian is also a modern society. "Circle" extends the nature of acquaintance society, and produces strong public opinion in village, and then it constructs the basic condition in the village administration.Therefore, the mode of village administration in Jian appears diversity. In the view of the leading power in the village administration, Jian's administration is dominated by patriarchal clan. In the view of the relationships among the different powers, Jian's administration presents its elite-league characteristic. And in the view of relationship between the inside and outside, Jian's administration presents its cohesive characteristic.In the study of Jian's administration, on one hand, it rebels the imagination of the traditional rural China, on the other hand, it tries to avoid breaking the integrity in rural China into pieces in current rural studies. In addition, it may be a useful explore of experimental studies and district-comparative research.
