The purpose of this paper: senior biology can be mainly divided into theoretical lessons, experimental lessons and extracurricular activities, through which principles, methods and features of inquiry learning are expected to be introduce into teaching plans, learning activities and assessment. Thus a strategy can be constructed, referred to or applied in senior biology, as well as a certain mode making inquiry learning more operative. There is also an expectation of an improvement in students' and efficiency, an active master of scientific knowledge, an employment of scientific methods, scientific attitude, and enrichment of emotional experience. It can increase students' scientific knowledge and have a far-reaching effect on a high living quality, their survival and development. It is hoped that through experiments, inquiry learning can be proved effective and feasible when applied in senior biological teaching.This paper develops theoretical and practical research according to the teaching strategy of inquiry learning. Probe the theoretical basis of inquiry learning. Analyze the currant situation of biological teaching and illustrate the necessity of inquiry learning in senior middle schools. Construct the teaching strategies of inquiry learning in biological teaching in senior middle schools. Introduce the particular application of teaching strategies with difference kinds of teaching cases. Carry out research on experimental teaching strategies of inquiry learning. The paper includes analysis on the experiment and conclusion of the content and strategies.Conclusions can be drawn from the theoretical and practical research: as follows:1. First, it' s feasible and necessary to apply the teaching of inquiry learning into senior biological teaching and learning. The students can acquire the knowledge and learn scientific methods, improve their abilities and qualities of thinking2. It' s effective and necessary to construct the teaching strategies of inquiry learning in biological teaching in senior middle schools.3. Improve the students performance in biological study. It proves that inquiry learning is effective in biology teaching among senior students.
