Nowadays education has greatly changed. Probing and discovery teaching, the research-based study, new curriculum criterion and college entrance examination appeared one after another. Our teaching idea and methods are experiencing an unparalleled challenge. Education in the 21st century is to study, to make the educated gain knowledge, learn to behave, learn to coexist, and learn to be. The harmonious development of society, and full scope for individual capacities call for study for lifetime. In order to adjust to the development of the situation, to enable the students to make progress, and to develop their creativity, their ability to practice, the awareness of competition and cooperation, and at last to train the students as the talents that our society needs, the idea and the methods that the education of physics follows will appear in a brand new way. The teaching of physics experiment plays an important role in the education of physics. In order to find out better ways to carry it out, I have studied and learned its teaching art and some teaching theories of physics, of research-based study, of constructivism, and at the same time prepared some questionnaires to get to know the present conditions of the subject in our school, the students'awareness of experiments, their attitudes towards it and their ability to do it. I found out that the students enjoy doing experiments, however, the present conditions of the subject as well as the students'ability to do experiments are not optimistic. In order to solve the problems found in the inquiry, I gradually put research-based study into practice according to the constructivism. A year later, I made an investigation again into the students'awareness of experiment, their attitudes towards it and their ability to do it. Comparing the findings of the two, I draw a conclusion that putting the learning method of study and probe into practice is an effective teaching method, which adapts to the students development as well as the reform target.
