As been proved by many scholars , education investment of a nation undoubtedly contributes to the economic growth. Meanwhile , education investment plays different role in different country or region. To make clear the relationship between the education investment and the regional economic development, the paper takes Sichuan as example in the following study.The paper consists of four parts. Firstly, the paper qualitatively analyzes the mutual effect of the education investment and regional economic development on the basis of the review of the contemporary economic theory in chapter one and chapter two. Secondly, the paper quantitively analyzes the direct and indirect effect of the education investment of Sichuan to the regional gross economic growth on the basis of Feder Model and Gross Production Founction in chapter three. Thirdly, the paper quantitively analyzes the effect of elementary education,secondary education and higher education as well as their effect to agriculture, industry and serving industries. Lastly, on the basis of the aforementioned analysis, the paper expounds the reasons of the low contribution quotas of Sichuan education investment to the economic growth and puts forward some suggestions on how to invest education to promote Sichuan economic development at further step.In the paper , the author not only measures the contribution quotas of Sichuan education investment to economic growth from the viewpoint of the classical economic growth theory, but also quantitively studies the education contribution in the upgrading of industries in Sichuan from the viewpoint of Structuralism, those who hold different ideas about economic growth, which might contribute to the development of the contemporary theoretical research .
