Visual Representation Construction And Teaching Of Mathematical Concepts

Visual representation of mathematical concepts could be used in teaching to help students develop a better understanding of the concepts as it comply with the pattern from individual to the general from specific to abstract from perceptual to rational,and from lower to the higher levels.Based on the educational and psychological theories regarding mathematical concepts' visual representation,we discuss the ways to construct them in mathematics teaching, and has analyzed the characteristic of visual representation of mathematical concepts and the function of visual representation of mathematical concepts representation in the teaching. And has made the detailed analysis on logarithm study of the construction of visual representation of mathematical concepts through the teaching practice. Besides highlighting its positive roles in students' understanding of mathematical concepts,we also point out several negative roles it may carry,which may provide some evidences for students' difficulties in mathematics learning.
