The features of the subject of maths determine that the learning of maths is to be meaningful learning. The process of meaningful learning is one in which meaning is acquired, whose essence is comprehension. Comprehension refers to mental activities where people make full use of prior knowledge and learning to reach the understanding of things as well as their inter-relationship. There are two modes of maths comprehension: instrumental comprehension and relative comprehension. The former one is related to the ostensibly understanding of the subjects while the latter one is to the understanding of the essence of the subjects. In the process of maths study, teachers should help students reach their relative comprehension as much as possible. Knowledge about maths is divided into two groups: conclusive knowledge and process knowledge. Therefore maths comprehension learning includes comprehension learning of conclusive knowledge and process knowledge. In practical teaching, teachers present knowledge to students and help them develop some maths skills, enabling them to solve problems by using maths knowledge they have gained. Simultaneously teachers evaluate the standard of students' comprehension. By strengthening the ties between prior experience and new knowledge, establishing problematic situations, employing parameters and comparison, studying reflectively, systematizing and generalizing knowledge can teachers accelerate students' maths comprehension learning. The following essay is intended for discussing how to establish problematic situations that benefit students' understanding and how to employ parameters and comparison in accordance to the understanding of maths concepts and propositions, the forming of maths skills and the acquisition of process knowledge so as to deepen students' understanding and mastery of maths knowledge. It also concerns how teachers help students reflect on their learning of process knowledge in order to promote their level of basic perceive and develop their consciousness and abilities to analyse and solve problems by using maths knowledge. And the essay is constructed on the basis of my study and research of the topic of maths comprehension in combination with my feelings and practice about it in my individual teaching.
