Abstract/Summary:
There're many innovations in the present Chinese language course reform of which itlies mainly in the enhancing of "language attainment". It's both the basic truth of the presentChinese language course reform and the goal of Chinese language course. It's also animportant task and urgent problem for Chinese language teachers to solve how to enhancestudents' Chinese language attainment. Language practice, in which an important way isdoing homework, is needed in the advancing. But the disadvantage in the traditionalhomework assigning, lasting from the past years, is not quite favorable in the advancing andas well restricting the practice of the Chinese language course curriculum criterian. Thus thereform in students' homework must be imperative under the situation. In this article, I try to search and discover the ways and means of the enhancing oflanguage attainment in the study of the design of students' Chinese language homework, try toreform this important step in language teaching and learning, to enrich the content andaccomplish the theory of this reform and give it the full play in the enhancing of languageattainment and the Chinese language course teaching. To do the research I read over 70 articles and books concerning or containing educationtheory, Chinese language teaching, the Chinese language course curriculum criterian anddesigning reform of students' language homework which provided a solid theoreticalfoundation for the research. I also made a question-sheet, naming "A survey on primarypupils' language homework situation", to survey on about 300 pupils from grade four to gradesix in my school and get the firsthand genuine statistics, which provide a strong truthargument grounds for my research. Otherwise, I tried many ways including observing andsingle-case study to make my research more overall and deeper. In my research, I try to explain the phrase "language attainment" and dissect thedisadvantage in the traditional homework assignment more overall and deeply. Six principlesto improve homework designing are suggested: enlighten, comprehensive, methodological,habitual, practical and individual. Six tactics in improving homework designing are proposed:homework should be designed scientifically, daily-life concerning, discovering, multiple,level arranged, and in homework evaluation, deversified. All the above serves thecomprehensive enhancing of the Chinese language attainment for pupils from theirindividuals and the life-long development.
