On The University's Competitiveness And Evaluation Of University's Specialty

The university is a very complicated big system, the evaluation should set up the evaluation theory, methods and scheme according to it's nature, function , discipline (specialty ) level. The specialty is the basic composition unit that the university launches personnel training, scientific research and community service, its structure, standard for running a school and scale merit, etc. are influencing all respects of the university directly, So, setting up systematic university's specialty evaluation theory , methods , index system for promoting university's competitiveness play very important function, and it is the foundation that the university implements reform policy and management.University's competition is the form of expression that the university develops into advanced stage under the environment of market economy. In fact, university's competitiveness is a kind of organization's competitiveness as enterprise's competitiveness, but because the university has it's own laws of development, there are unique way and characteristic in university's competition, it is different from enterprises going on indirectly from three respects such as personnel training, scientific research and community service, it's competition products are mainly academy and graduate. As the result of a kind of historical development, university's competition has already accumulated abundant practice information, rising these information to the theory level and offering them to promote competition has become high hot studying problem at present.University's competitiveness and evaluation of university's specialty are dense and integral, evaluation of specialty is the foundation of promoting university's competitiveness, it can promote university's competitiveness. Evaluation of specialty belongs to the micro evaluation level, it is a evaluation subjects according to certain purpose and standard, personnel, management, condition, performance who take scientific attitude and method specialized to the university, etc. judge value of quality and quantity. According to evaluation subject evaluation of specialty can-divide into 7 kinds, according to evaluation goal it can be divided 3 kinds. It can improve personnel management system of university from economic benefits and social benefit while proposing high requesting to university, independent authority, and administrative system, etc.; Meanwhile, also it can promote the service quality.On the basis of different purpose, the thesis has list four pieces of evaluation system such as specialty classify index system (table4-2) for improving university's specialty structure, specialty adaptability evaluation index system (table4-3) for controlling specialty reasonable, specialty scale & benefit evaluation index system (table4-4) for inducting government's devotion, specialty running level index evaluation index system (table4-5) for guiding students. The index is those take on maneuverability, feasibility. Because of the limit of writing condition, the weight of the index can't find every expert to mark them, so AHP is chosen.This thesis expatiates the theory, methods and evaluation index system of university's specialty, the first chapter is the preface which introduces actuality of the field, the purpose of research, content and method, the innovation and shortage. The second chapter illuminate the university competitiveness, evaluation of university's specialty and important relation between them from the theory angle. In the third chapter, the methods used in evaluation of university's specialty are introduced one by one. Next chapter has list four pieces of evaluation index system and at last taking all the Wuhan University's specialties as example to carry on the positive research.This thesis is One of the achievements of Wuhan University educational reform study key item" On the evaluation of university discipline & specialty and redressal measure " (Wuhan university , Teach Word [2003 ] 193).
