With the development of Chinese Curriculum Guideline, emerging publications of new Chinese textbooks, and enlargement of pilot school numbers, the curriculum reforms of elementary education in our country are gradually stepping into a higher stage. Accordingly the status of children's literature in the Chinese course teaching in elementary and middle schools is getting a higher profile, the interpretation and application of children's literature philosophy are becoming one of the major issues under study. The survey of major issues existed in the of children's literature teaching in Chinese course in schools shows that the enlightenment function of children's literature have not been well recognized because the key problem is that teachers of Chinese do not have good understanding of the children's literature. The author tries to analyze this issue based on the status quo of children's literature teaching in elementary and middle schools, the accurate understanding of children's literature, the good command of stylistics of children's literature, and the good implementation of enlightenment function of children's literature, in order to provide some instructive ideas to improve the current Chinese teaching.Part I: The children's literature based on the development stage, being helpful to their healthy growth, plays an important role in the 12-year Chinese courses operated in elementary and middle schools, especially at the 9-year compulsory elementary learning stage. However, the survey shows that quite a few teachers of Chinese are gaining a weak understanding of children's literature. Therefore, the children's literature philosophy acquirement for the teachers of Chinese must be carried out.Part II: By defining the fundamental characteristics of children'!? literature and children's reading materials, exploring the children's appeal to the children's literature, the paper offers assistance to the teachers of Chinese to rightly understand the children's literature.Part III: The paper provides the proof that the teachers of Chinesecan only accurately have a good command of the thread of thoughts, inherent details and spiritual marrow over the different types of children's literature by learning and acquiring the necessary stylistics of children's literature.Part IV: The children's literature poses aesthetical characters such as trueness, childishness, happiness, phantasm and simplicity, and can provide unique functions for feeling and aesthetical education. The author insists that the children's literature should be studied in new ways in order that it can promote children's selfishness and fully implement the function of enlightenment through children's literature.
