The institution of village self-governance has been carried out for twenty years. It is no less a hot topic than the "San Nong" problem. It can reflect the relationship between the state and the society and through it we can also see the interaction between them. Nowadays, it is really shocking that the rights and interests of parents are still being frequently infringed. After those twenfy years, the space of the rural self-governance is still limited and its ability remains very weak. It is not only caused by the social basis of the village but also by the interactive resource, power and logic between the state and the rural society. This thesis tries to expound this idea in four parts. The first part is about the origin and value of the topic, the status quo of the research, the main train of thought and the viewpoint of the author, the research method, the definition of the key concepts, and the choice of the samples. In the second part, the author has investigated the condition of self-governance in the Zhang Village. Through the investigation of the social basis of village self-governance, the produce and reproduce of village self-governance organization, the construction of the public affairs and the financial regulation, the author makes it clear how it happens that the interactive inequality between the state and the rural society is maintained and even strengthened in the course of village self-governance.In the third part, the author analyzes the actions of the state and the rural society during the emergence and popularization of the village self-governance. The author thinks that the cause of the unequal interaction between the state and the rural society in the village self-governance is that the interactive logic of the state and the rural society hasn't done well in harmonization when they are constructing the regulations of the village self-governance.The fourth part is a summary of this thesis.
