Listening, same as reading/writing/speaking, is an important and indiscerptible part of Chinese teaching in High School. While in practice, listening ability is neither properly addressed as it should be, nor covered in the entrance exam for college since we had the exam. In this thesis, the author tries to analyze the composing factors of high school students' listening ability, present a general idea of the teaching of listening in aspects: meaning, goal, principles, method, also the principle & format evaluation on that, and etc. The following are the foundation of this thesis: Listening training requirements from "Guideline for Chinese Teaching"& "Chinese Course Standard"; Students' understanding, rules of their body and mind development; Achievements from modern education theories/principles/methods:science & human culture, thoughts & technique, training & testing,analysis & evaluation; Study results of listing teaching at home and aboard.
